My picture is not with the class of '53. I was out of school
from an accident most of my junior year. So in '53 I was still classified
as a junior, but I consider myself a member of the Class of '53. I didn't graduate but I
took the GED and went on to college without a senior year. Attached are
pictures of me in 1953 and today.
After 38 years in and around Las Vegas, Frances and I wanted to see some
rain and hopefully some money. So we took the family to San Francisco in
1973. I worked there in accounting (CPA) for 23 years and retired in 1996.
We sold the house and had a new home built 20 miles from civilization in
Western Oregon (lots of trees, rain, deer, mountains, and no traffic). We
do lots of volunteer work with the church, a little gardening, a little
jogging (just me), and every day is Saturday or Sunday.
In all, Frances and I have been married 40 years (I got a late start). We
raised 9 kids (ages 39-24) and have 18 grandkids. There are 3 of us here
as my mom, age 90, has joined us. At this time we are not able to get away
for long trips, but do take off a week now and then (our son and wife stay
here with mom).
We are 80 miles South of Portland, 1/2 hour East of Corvallis or Salem. Hope
anyone in the area will stop by, give us a call, or stay over (541)
258-8378. See you in 2003. Bill Hamilton
