Please help me with corrections and additional information. I did not take notes and my memory has deteriorated so please bear with my errors and ommissions. We will keep trying to get it right.

Paul Anderson, Bill Johnson, Richard Vasquez and Ed Mason's Wife, Phyllis sent their regrets at not being able to attend due to ill health

5 PM to 7 PM or so was spent getting reacquainted with classmates, some of whom had not seen each other in 50 years. Of course the stories told were embellished by whatever could be added to vaguely remembered events. The bar got amazingly little business while classmates used every minute to chat and reminisce. Some of the classmates provided photos from our school years that were spread out on tables near the ballroom entrance. Jack and Katie Milligan passed out name tags for each person as they entered the hall. The name tags were essential at the beginning, but with time, the faces of 50 years ago emerged from the wrinkles and grey of today.

After 7 PM, the buffet was set and we all ate our fill of delicious foods. From the clatter of voices, it didn't appear that anyone let eating get in the way of the talking.

After dinner, Jack Milligan got us started around the room to tell about our lives since 1951. Sam Ward, Senior Class President, started us off by admonishing us to relate important events in our lives and not to dwell on things like length of marriage, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Then Dick Wells, Student Body President, had his say along with a joke that was related to Chuck Evans and sinning. From there it went around the room in no particular order with everyone in a jolly mood. Everyone that wanted to got to tell their story and how long that they had been married and how many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (in spite of Sammy). By the time over 40 of us had had the floor, we were pretty much exhausted and the party broke up not long after 10 PM. I did not take notes and only vaguely recall what was said. If you want to read more about your classmates, go to the personal section of this website. Please e-mail or snail mail notes and photos to me to include in your personal page. lwentz@juno.com or LeRoy Wentz, 7911 258th Avenue East, Buckley, WA 98321 (360) 829-0836. Highlights from the All Class Reunion

Close to 500 LVHS graduates and spouses attended this reunion on Saturday night, June 9, 2001. This was a VERY successful party thanks to the efforts of Mary Kaye Irwin (48) and Jean McColl (49)! Many thanks to Bill Boyd for hosting this function at his hotel (the Stardust) and giving us discounts on rooms and a very economical and excellent buffet dinner. This reunion was started by Bill (Wildcat) Morris (class of 1948) and continued after his death through the efforts of his Widow, Vivian Morris, Bill Boyd (class of 1948), Mary Kaye; Jean and the class of 49. There were four tables of 1951 graduates and three tables of 1953 graduates. The class of 1941 had had their 60th reunion the night before and had well designed banners to mark their tables. Most classes made the attempt to reserve tables so that they could sit together. I did not take roll and would appreciate some help making my lists accurate.

Many of the 1951 graduates that attended their golden reunion on Friday night also showed up on Saturday. John (Buzzy) Ullom and Bill (Sonney) Handley of the class of 1951 missed Friday night but were there on Saturday.

Class of 1953 attendees included:

Hank Rilling and Wife, Carol
LeRoy Wentz and Wife, Julia
Lois Wentz Durkee
Pat (Trish) Brown Carker
Barbara Burton Jones
Rena Pulliam Ruby
Martha Graham Clark
Mary Jane Arnold Hoffman
Bob Beville
Bill Ciliax
Joe Jaramillo
Jerry Kerns
Alice Thiriot Waite and her Father Joe Thiriot
Fred Pinjuv

Also attending that I remember were:

Patsy Graham Covin (52)
Bernadette Quattrini Yeend(52)
Roger Oakes (52) and Wife, Jenny
John Daley (??)
George Enomoto
Bob Faiss (54)
Ruth Sweet (52)
Norman Hilbrecht (52) and Wife, Mercedes
David Welles (52)
George Davis (52)
Phyllis Zygtema Nebron (54) and husband Jerry
George Gilbert

The reunion consisted of a cocktail party from 5PM to 7PM; a buffet dinner from 7PM to 9PM; dancing to a live band and reminiscing with classmates until the party broke up before midnight. Cocktails were available all evening and there was plenty of food to fill even the most glutinous. Bill Boyd and Vivian Morris spoke a few words of welcome after dinner and Senator Dick Bryan encouraged contributions to the project to refurbish the Senior Squares at the Original LVHS building. This reunion was so much fun that I for one plan to attend every year in the future as long as I am able.
